Navigating the NDIS can feel overwhelming at times, but understanding the ins and outs of plan meetings and reassessments can help participants and their families feel more confident and at ease. What are NDIS plan meetings and plan reassessments?

NDIS plan meetings are collaborative meetings you have with your NDIS planner or local area coordinator (LAC) when you first get your NDIS plan.

Plan reassessments are the meetings you will have after you already have an NDIS plan to discuss and review your goals, needs and supports. Your NDIS plan will always have a reassessment date so that you can have sufficient time to prepare and think about any changes you may want to discuss.

These meetings may be in person or over the phone. You can have a friend or family member attend or be with you if you like.

 

What to expect for your NDIS plan meeting

Your NDIS plan meeting will be with your planner or LAC. They will assess the details you provided and collaborate with you to create your initial plan. They will ask different questions about your current goals and goals to ensure the right plan and support i provided for you.

During your meeting, you can ask for any questions to be repeated or explained better if you have any trouble understanding anything. If you have any questions or uncertainty after the meeting, you can also reach out to your planner or LAC via email or call to clarify.

What to expect for your NDIS plan reassessment

Your NDIS plan reassessment date will usually already be determined from your last meeting. The NDIS will contact you before the date to remind you of your meeting. Together, you and your planner will go through your current plan and can either extend your current plan, make changes to your current plan or create a new plan, depending on what suits your circumstances best.

You may decide if you would like to undertake your NDIS plan reassessments either over the phone or in person, just ensure that your planner or LAC knows which type of meeting you would prefer.
